OFSTED Inspection of Physical Education - March 2006.
On the 13th and 14th of March 2006, Mr John Young – one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors – spent two days in school assessing our provision for Physical Education. His judgements were very positive and reflect real credit on everyone involved in P.E. – but especially Mr Justin Hampson and Mrs Philippa Procter. In his report he described Physical Education as ‘good with outstanding features’ and we were really pleased about this as it means that children significantly benefit from their P.E. experiences at our school. Mr Young described our facilities as ‘satisfactory but in poor condition’ and this is something we will be taking up with Kirklees LEA.
During the two days, he held discussions with staff, observed lessons in all three Year Groups, took note of how well the playleader worked with children at lunchtime, visited all parts of the school and spoke to boys and girls from Years 6, 7 and 8. He was particularly impressed with the way they were able to answer his questions and explain their views about P.E. to him.
Section 9/10 Inspection - March 2004.

" Standards of discipline are high and working relationships between teachers and pupils are good."
" All pupils have equality of access to a broad and reasonably balanced curriculum with provision for all National Curriculum subjects, RE and social education.'
" The arrangements for pupils with special educational needs are very effective. Parents rightly praised the personal support and guidance for pupils which is good.'
" Provision of extra-curricular activities, sport and music is a real strength of the school. The very good range of clubs and activities enhances pupils' range of experiences and personal development.'
