Year 6 Cross Country Teams Through To Kirklees Finals
On Tuesday 15th September both the boys and girls U11 cross country teams took part in the Newsome Sports Partnership Cross Country Competition. The event took place at Almondbury High School with approx 140 pupils entering competitions in 4 different categories. Both teams performances were outstanding with 1st and 2nd place finishes in the boys race and a 3rd place finish in the girls race. Both teams will now go forward to represent the Newsome Partnership in the Kirklees Youth Games at Leeds Road on Monday 12th October.
Football Teams get off to a mixed start.
The U13 football team kicked off their season in fine form beating Holmfirth 'B' team  5-0. The U12 team still have work to do though losing 5-1 to a very strong Honley team. Practices are held every Wednesday evening until 5pm with over 60 pupils attending the last session and all new comers are welcome. JUST BRING YOUR BOOTS!!
Netball Teams are flying!
The U13 netball team made the best possible start to the season making a potentially very difficult fixture look easy with a 21-2 victory over an All Saints team with whom they had only managed a 2-2 draw last season. The U12 side maintained the winning theme, although in a much tighter game,  they eventually  ran out winners 9-8.
U12 Football Team Showing Improvement
The U12 football team suffered another defeat 3-0 away to Holmfirth. However there were clear signs of improvement and with a side containing numerous U11 players against a strong Holmfirth team the hope is that the team will be able to make a challenge in the cup competition when those particular fixtures start in early February.
